Magnetic Chaos Dice Case

Magnetic Chaos Dice Case

cults3d

This is a magnetically sealed case I made for my Chaos Dice. The design uses ten 3mm cube magnets, five on each side, to ensure a tight seal. To prevent the magnets from popping out during printing, I applied a tiny dab of superglue to the bottom side of each one. It's crucial that all polarities are matched up before gluing them in place, as they won't budge once dry. Also, be prepared to pause your print several times to allow for drying time between each magnet. My case was printed on a Prusa i3 MK3 using slic3r and ColorPrint, which made the process seamless. I initially tried printing with Colorfabb Bronzefill but found that the top details were difficult to achieve perfectly. Instead, I opted for Hatchbox Copper PLA, which paired beautifully with the 14-hour tumbled Chaos Dice made from Bronzefill, polished using my KitchenAid Rock Tumbler.
