Magnetic Chaos Dice Case
pinshape
This is a magnetically sealed case I designed for my Chaos Dice (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3058094). It relies on ten 3mm cube magnets, five per side, which I secure in place with a tiny drop of superglue on the bottom side of each one. Without this precaution, they will quickly pop out when the extruder passes over them. Before gluing, make sure all polarities are matched up so the case can be sealed from any position. Once locked in place, the magnets won't budge. Before starting your print, ensure you know how to pause it because getting the magnets aligned and dried takes a few minutes or more. My set was printed on a Prusa i3 MK3 using slic3r and ColorPrint (https://www.prusaprinters.org/color-print/), which is very user-friendly. I initially tried printing the case with Colorfabb Bronzefill, but the top's detail proved too tricky to get right. Therefore, I opted for Hatchbox Copper PLA instead. It works perfectly well with the 14-hour tumbled Bronzefill dice that were polished using my KitchenAid Rock Tumbler (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3108867).
