This replacement magnetic blade guard fits Fiskars rotary cutter rulers. The original part features a molded bushing that eventually wears out, requiring a new cutter purchase. This is a replacement part that requires additional components: a bushing and a magnet. The unique size of the original bushing makes it difficult to buy as a separate item. Original Fiskars blades have a 5/16-inch hole, while cheap clones have an 8mm hole. This subtle difference prevents Fiskars blades from fitting on an 8mm bushing. The custom-made bushing must fit over a 5mm shaft to accommodate original Fiskars blades. Fortunately, creating one is inexpensive and can be outsourced to individuals with the necessary tools on Ebay for a few pounds or dollars. Alternatively, users can employ standard-sized bushings, limiting their blade options to clones. Two STL versions of the handle are available: * A custom-sized handle (handle-5-16.stl) with an ID of 5mm, OD of 5/16 inches, and height of 6mm * A standard-sized handle (handle-8mm.stl) with an ID of 5mm, OD of 8mm, and height of 5mm Both handles require a round neodymium magnet with dimensions of 6mm in diameter by 4mm in height. Tools for inserting and removing the bushing and magnet are also included. The OpenSCAD source file allows users to adjust sizes according to their printer's tolerances.
