Magnetic Base Systems for Axolote Hex Tiles

After delving deeper into the Axolote Hex tile and wall system, I gained a profound appreciation for the tireless effort that went into this set. The tiles are remarkably detailed, and the base set includes an impressive array of stretch goals that add a wealth of variety. However, I had always harbored reservations about the wall connection system. After some deliberation and recovery from gloomhaven burnout, I finally decided to take the plunge. Many others have successfully created magnetic bases to replace the standard openlock connector bases for this tile set, and they are truly exceptional, as evident in the remix list. However, when it came to the walls, they remained largely unaddressed. Thus, I embarked on a mission to create a magnetic base and wall system for Axolote Hex. During my experimentation with magnetic bases, I experimented with various styles before finally settling on one. In the process, I created 11 different bases, which I have uploaded here in case you might find any of them to your liking. I ended up printing numerous B2s and some B1s to add lower height variation. Two B2s stacked together work beautifully for achieving higher heights. Sources: All files were modeled from scratch by me, but I drew inspiration from many of the concepts and dimensions found in the files cited in the remix section.
