Magnetic Ball Bed Mount Set *Updated
thingiverse
I got soooo tired of trying to level my printer bed(s) only to have it too high in the middle and level around the edges. Adding aluminum plate, glass and the magnetic steel never helped. I have seen delta printers held on with round magnets so I thought that may be a better way to allow the bed to "float" without the stress of the bed screws warping the plate. After modification there are no longer any stresses pulling on the bed and the only thing that adjusts is the individual screw. **Update: I can't describe how much this has changed my printing experience. I have not had to level a bed since installing this system. I have accidently picked the whole bed up and the bed remained perfectly level. Although my Sovol has ABL I have no need for it. **Update: More pictures added of assembly. I have modified the parts to make it shorter so less Z height is sacrificed. It is now very close to original height. (I forgot to measure before and after) I have it fully functional on my Kingroon KPS3 and two Sovol SV01s and it overwhelmingly meets my expectations. The bed is fully level from front to back using manual leveling. The test prints are amazingly level! Since there are no pulling forces from heating and cooling the bed stays level for much longer. I did have to make an update to the mounts. The top disk rotated when turning the bed knobs at the bottom. I created a small gripper knob to hold steady when turning the bottom bed knob. You may need different size hardware depending on your printer. This disk is then fit to the ring of the disk with the nut and superglued together. Assemble the base of the spring on the bed mount and then assemble the bed adjusting screws. At this point the bed can be attached magnetically (magically?) to the bed mount. the only movement is from the screws raising or lowering. Hopefully the pictures will make it easy to understand assembly.
