Prusa MK3s Screen Cover The Prusa MK3s boasts an astonishingly bright LCD screen, and for some inexplicable reason, the potentiometer to adjust the brightness is extremely inconvenient to access. Given that performing a bit of electrical work to reposition the pot or install a backlight cutout would void the warranty, it's common to design and print a light blocking screen cover. This is yet another Prusa MK3 screen cover, but uses magnets to attach to the screen and can be printed with an optional screen stow clip. I'm utilizing 8x3mm holes for the magnets because I happened to have some spare. The fusion360 files are included below so you can adjust as needed, but be warned: the file is a bit of a mess! Print the screen cover and press fit in two magnets; make sure that you get the magnet polarity correct before you press all the way in! I've left small holes on the opposite side of the magnet so you can press the magnet out if needed. The screen cover will attach magnetically, and can be similarly attached to the stow clip. The optional stow clip is designed to clip onto the rear of the top frame. Ensure that you attach the clip with the magnets facing the side of the Frame opposite the print head; otherwise, you risk the print head crashing into it as it traverses the x-axis at a high z-level. I printed this in Amazon Basics Black PLA using 20% infill and .2mm layer height. Just a note: the f360 file is a complete mess. I threw it together hastily and wasn't super careful about using components or common planes. Don't use it as a learning tool! Future work includes printing thinner, semi-opaque regions like Prusa's "Lights Out" LCD Screen Cover by dahedd - Thingiverse.
