magnet handle
thingiverse
I adored the initial part, but it didn't fit perfectly, and then I desired to add larger magnets as well. So here are parametric files for any round or square magnet size. These designs are engineered to be snug -- you can likely press-fit the magnet into the wide end, and it will probably stay once it's in. However, the hole is tapered and becomes slightly looser towards the other end. That way, once you get the magnet in, you can push it all the way down (with a rod for smaller magnets). The bottom is only one layer thick (so your bed leveling needs to be precise!) which puts the magnet very close to the end while still holding it in. I created a plug for the round magnet, so you can press-fit the magnet in and then press-fit the plug in afterwards. Both the handle and plug are in the same part; I usually separate them in Cura and then print one-at-a-time. I didn't create a plug for the small cube magnet; I typically just run the extruder a bit with the tip in the hole and let it fill up. (Marlin "load filament" mode is almost perfect.)
