Two primary stages within the Tuross Head Tonalite emerge as tonalite and various more mafic diorites. In this model, dense diorite magma sinks down through less dense tonalite magma (stratigraphic 'up' points towards the top of the initial view), forming load cast like structures. The diorite also quenches against the cooler-toned tonalite, which in turn displays back-veining into the overlying diorite, resembling flame structures.
