Maglock, Toddler Safety Lock For Cupboards
thingiverse
I'm locking cupboards that unlock with a magnet, making them toddler-proof. I mainly use it in the kitchen where my little dude often made a mess by emptying bottom cupboards. BOM: - 2 Neodymium magnets 10mm x 10mm x 5mm - 2 M3 screws, 18mm length - 3 4mm wood screws, at least 10mm long Instructions that worked for me: - Print all parts - Assemble all parts (it's self-explanatory), place magnets firmly in position (glue them if needed) - Screw the hook with hinge to the door at desired height - Screw the latch inside the cupboard: middle of screw rail is 3.5cm from door plane away, measure this distance and screw one screw to rail, semi-fixed - Adjust latch to fit hook and test - Screw second screw to latch to fix it permanently Thanks to Non-ICE for good basis. My changes to original: - Latch and hinge axes reinforced by M3 screws, threads modeled - Washer holds hook in place (use plastic one, metal interferes with magnet on hook) - Screw rail on latch part - New ergonomic key - Minor changes to dimensions, e.g. tighter fit for magnet in hook Fusion 360 project file is attached.
