Maglite Torch Starship (2xAAA model)
prusaprinters
Convert a 2x AAA battery Maglite into a freestanding starship, shining downwards to light up the shock diamonds in its rocket flame. If you have a 2xAA battery Maglite then please see my slightly larger version of this design. Print instructionsI have not printed this yet as I don't yet have a printer. The Flame should ideally be printed in transparent or, even better, in orange-tinted transparent material. Idea You could use a coloured cellophane sweet wrapper (eg Quality Street) in front of the torch to tint the light. The other parts can be printed in whatever you like to match or contrast with your 2xAAA Maglite torch. I have included three STLs for the Leg - one is a one-piece version which would need to be printed in a vertical orientation. The wing extends out at 45 degrees, so you should get away with it. I think the way the material is laid down will look nicer doing it this way. However I have also provided the Leg in two halves, which will can be flat on the print bed and will print much faster and with a lower risk of something going wrong, but you will have to glue them together. You will need to glue the Legs into the sockets on the Hub, and drop the Flame into its seat in the Hub too. Then insert the torch, and top it off with the Capsule. 5 4 3 2 1 We have lift-off!
