Maglite Solitaire Glasses Clip
thingiverse
I wear glasses. I dislike them intensely, but it's far better than the alternative. My glasses are the thin-rimmed type made from that highly flexible metal that won't break easily. I opt for this style because my face sometimes collides with things. Broken noses heal, while shattered glasses don't. I pondered using the metal structure attached to my face to enable a flashlight attachment. Thus, the "Maglite Solitaire Glasses Clip" was born. This would be particularly useful for small-scale close-up work, exploring tiny caves, pretending to be a Borg drone, and working on plumbing under a sink (the human head wasn't designed for that purpose). Note: This won't work with every pair of glasses. The side-pieces (temples) of my glasses are 3mm tall by 1.2mm wide. If you wear thick-rimmed hipster glasses, this will not be suitable for you. This design takes advantage of flexible frame glasses. Don't break your glasses trying to make this fit. Avoid an "I told you so" situation. Important: The Maglite Solitaire is 1/2 inch (12.7mm) in diameter. This was designed to hold the flashlight on the barrel of the light only, which is 53.3mm long. That way, you still have access to the bezel and battery end. In theory, this clip can hold anything with those dimensions.
