The Magic Wand Delta 3D Printer, as showcased in this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwBe9YSDoow, boasts an impressive build volume of 280mm x 600mm+. I've received a request to share the STL files for this printer, so I'm posting them here now. Due to time constraints, I won't be able to provide a BOM or instructions at this moment. My magnetic arm design has been refined since 2013, with my first version being a modified Seemecnc Rostock Max V1. This latest iteration is my own design, utilizing readily available components. I'm using the Seemecnc ezstruder and heated bed in this printer. Miscellaneous Notes: The DXF files were created using a laser cutter and CNC router, with 1/4" MDF used for top and bottom covers, as well as some 1/4" lite ply for effector parts. Magnetic arms (Magic Wands) can be sourced from Revolution Machines at http://shop.revolutionmachines.com/3-8-95mm-N52-Magnet-Cylinder-Set-12-Piece-ND3-8-12pc.htm. For the arm components, I use 3/8" chrome steel balls with 3mm screws JB welded to them. To ensure proper curing of the JB weld, I employ a heat lamp. There are alternative options available that feature studs already attached to the balls. I've included the jig used for making my arms. End caps are made from ABS and epoxied onto 3/8" carbon fiber tubes. The RADDS controller is paired with an Arduino DUE board and RAPS128 Stepper drivers in this printer setup. A heated bed, available from Seemecnc (280mm printable), is also utilized. This self-locking carriage was derived from a previous design and modified to support 9mm belts and MGN15H carriages. The original design can be found on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:932959. For the LCD mount, users should employ their slicer to create a mirror image so that the LCD box can be mounted on both sides. Some key components used in this printer include: * RobotDigg's product 628 * RobotDigg's product 523 * RobotDigg's product 359 * RobotDigg's product 261 (x6, for idlers at top and steppers) * RobotDigg's product 317 * MGN15H long body rail available on eBay * Nema 17 corners from RobotDigg's product 652 * Idler components also sourced from RobotDigg A 5mm shaft for idlers can be obtained from ACPSales, featuring a pultruded carbon fiber material with an outer diameter of 0.375. The e3d V6 hotend is used in this printer configuration.
