Magic Trackpad 1 Sleeve
thingiverse
I'm a huge fan of the Apple Magic Trackpad (original version), but I have to admit that it has one major issue - its rubber feet tend to pull free from the housing. This problem gets worse if you, like me, carry your trackpad around in a backpack. This sleeve solves this problem by keeping the rubber feet from getting caught on anything when stored in a backpack. The raised runners also prevent the feet from touching the inside of the sleeve while inserting or removing it. Just to note, this sleeve isn't a pressure fit, so if you turn your trackpad upside down, it will come loose from the sleeve. The proof-of-concept print was done using ProtoPasta's Original Carbon Fiber PLA. This material prints beautifully, but it's very brittle. If you're printing with a flexible material, I'd suggest trimming the inside area by about 0.3 mm to keep everything secure. A rubber band will also do the trick. The model for this sleeve was created using TinkerCad. Feel free to modify it as needed. A version without the Apple logo is included for those who prefer a more minimalist design.
