If you've ever visited Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort with a Class A Motorhome, you may have felt like your arm was too short to reach the gate scanner when coming in through the side gate to the resort. Instead of sticking your head out the driver's side window to get your Magic Band close enough to trigger the gate, you can simply mount this device on a 3/8-inch dowel of your choice. Then fasten your Magic Band around the device and enjoy extended reach to the gate scanner comfortably without hanging out the window like a wild person. See you later at the Fort! I revised the file to make it wider so it can better accept the magic band, and I made some minor adjustments on the handle end for a cleaner look. The MickeyBand_New file is an updated version that accepts the latest Magic Band style. Disney has changed the design of the band slightly - the RFID module is now screwed into the wristband, and the front has a more rounded appearance. After printing, ream the rod opening: I found out that the dimensions of the part are a bit too tight. If you try to shove a 3/8-inch dowel into the part, due to the force on the laminations, it will crack. To avoid this problem, I recommend wrapping the tube extension with electrical tape first to keep compression on it while slowly reaming with a 3/8-inch drill bit. Then, once the part is smoothed out and properly dimensioned, you can apply some glue to the tip of a dowel and slip it into place without splitting the part.
