Magic Arm RPI Cam Mount (i3 MK3)
thingiverse
This is a method to Attach a Raspberry Pi Webcam on a 3D-Printer using a Magic Arm. For this purpose, you will need a Magic Arm (~300mm) with a 1/4" thread, a RPI Webcam, two M3x10 Screws, two M3x5x5 thread inserts or M3 Nuts and some Super Glue. I utilized a Wide Angle Webcam with IR Lights, but any other Cam should work equally well. Just be mindful of the placement of the ZIF Socket for the Ribbon Cable. Some adjustment may be required to accommodate a different Camera Module. The Clip that holds the Camera needs to be Adhered in Place. This is done on one hand, so that no Support is needed and on the other, so that it can be adjusted for different Module heights. You can bend the Clip Backwards to Remove the Module. But the fit should be quite tight, so maybe Pliers are necessary. For the Magic Arm, simply follow the Picture. I Designed it for the Aluminium Extrusions of my Prusa i3 MK3, but it should be possible to Mount it in other ways too. I used thread inserts, but I also added a version for normal Nuts. I utilized Polycarbonate for this Print, but feel free to use any other Material that you see fit.
