Maggi Float

Maggi Float

This model was an idea I had to make use of the last of my large and strong magnets. ( I actually could use another 2, I wish I had :( ).The design is basic and straight forward, there is a base that holds 4 magnets (25x5mm) and 4 steel rods (~6x20mm). Then a shuttle is placed over the base translating about the Z axis using the aforementioned rods as guides. The shuttle houses 4 magnets of the same size as the ones in the base. These magnets are to be installed at an opposite polarity to those magnets mounted in the base. Finally a top “hat” is used to close up the design, add stability and stop the tissues from overflowing out the top.A future design may actually use only 3 magnets instead of 4.Print the Shuttle face down with 3-4 perimeters and zero Top layers and zero infill. This will allow the shuttle to be light and strong.
