Magentic Geared Fidget Spinner
cults3d
I'm designing a geared fidget spinner inspired by various other designs I've come across. Unfortunately, I'm unsure of the originator. The bearings are linked in such a way that spinning the central bearing around it causes the outer bearings to spin, and vice versa. This particular design uses magnetic gears instead of traditional ones. Parts: This spinner requires 48 - 4x2 magnets on the gears, with additional magnets needed if you also plan to use them for assembly (or glue dots can be used as an alternative). The magnets on the gears alternate between north and south facing outwards. It needs five skate bearings (two are in the center). Ceramic ball/magnetic steel bearings would likely work better, but I opted for standard metal bearings, which are affected by the magnets and only spin for a few seconds.
