Magellan RoadMate Replacement GPS Mounting Base
thingiverse
I was frantically searching for an alternative mounting solution when my suction cup mount for my trusty Magellan RV9165T-LM RoadMate GPS gave out on me. I swiftly decided to draw inspiration from a vintage iQue3600 Palm Pilot / GPS dashmount and create something similar for my current device. Here's the end result of my DIY endeavor. To assemble this makeshift mount, simply follow these steps: - bolt > mount > washer > insert > arm > insert > washer > mount > nut As soon as you tighten that final nut, the arm will be securely locked into place. Now it's up to you - either use double-sided adhesive or self-tapping screws to attach the base to your dashboard. I deliberately left those screw holes small so you can easily drill them out if needed. --- An additional Sketchup model to prove that this software is more than just a myth when it comes to 3D printing.
