The suction cup mount for my Magellan RV9165T-LM RoadMate GPS stopped working, so I had to find another way to secure it. I decided to recreate a dashmount inspired by an old iQue3600 Palm Pilot/GPS design. This is what I came up with. I used the original GPS mount and added a ball-jointed arm that attaches to it. The toothed inserts are also part of the original design. To assemble this, start by attaching the bolt to the mount, followed by a washer, an insert, the arm, another insert, a washer, the mount, and finally the nut. Once the nut is tightened, the arm will be locked in place. Next, you can attach the base to the dash using double-sided adhesive or self-tapping screws. I left the screw holes small so that you can easily drill them out if needed. I created this design as part of a larger project showcasing the capabilities of Sketchup in 3D printing.
