This is a custom-made bike mount designed specifically for my Magellan Cyclo 105 Speedo. To be exact, two separate bikes benefit from this handy attachment – my trusty Mountain bike flaunts the Genuine mount while my vintage ride showcases the expertly crafted 3D printed version. The generous OpenSCAD source files provided here are ready for modification so you can make any desired changes to suit your unique needs. Credit for initial inspiration goes out to andiwu's clever "Garmin Edge 510/810 Mount" (thing 96504). To get started, dive into the instructions: The OpenSCAD source file is at your disposal – tweak those parameters to fit your vision. You'll have control over the bar diameter (barDia) where your Speedo will securely mount and set the angle (barAngle) between that mounting bar and the speedo. One neat feature of this design is its "bridge" functionality. It streamlines printing, ensuring the top flange requires minimal supports for optimal clarity. When printing, remember to add supports, remove them carefully – a sharp knife does wonders in handling the delicate task. Practically, ABS stands as an excellent choice because it offers the added advantage of flexibility, while PLA proves too rigid. For effective support material removal, the inclusion of a thin, flexible tube proved quite handy; cable-tied in place for precision and reliability. Tested extensively during my road rides, this custom-made Speedo mount withstood the test of time remarkably well – solid performance is assured without worrying about rough terrain shattering its resilience. However, I do suggest proceeding cautiously in off-road adventures due to limited robustness against severe abrasion.
