I wanted this scene to be an intimate one, set indoors where characters could relax and reveal themselves without distraction. To create a sense of fantasy, I drew inspiration from ancient libraries, but decided to take it further by envisioning a space that was equal parts study hall and living quarters for scholars and mages. As I modeled the interior, I realized that these individuals would likely spend so much time within its walls that it should feel like a home away from home.
