UCLA students in ME157A: Introduction to Robotics take control in their own hands - and minds! This class focuses on teaching principles, modeling, and algorithms related to robotics engineering with emphasis on motion analysis using simulations. The curriculum dives into real-world examples from robotics competitions, and assignments engage teams of up to 5 members directly solving challenges via MATLAB coding or robot visualization tools programming within Python. By the end of UCLA MAE157A Spring Semester course (2019) - all students develop unique understanding and gain essential skills through projects combining computational dynamics modeling using Python & visual simulations as tools for validation; learning also about machine control software platforms integrating hardware, motion and vision perception, navigation with sensor data integration, computer interface for the end product. Students who sign up in advance by filling required online course enrollment process get immediate feedback and real insight into this program, so they could plan on what should go first during course schedule preparation!
