myminifactory
This statue was crafted by renowned sculptor Thomas Boudin (Paris, circa 1570 - Paris, 1637), capturing the likeness of Madeleine Marchand, spouse of President Le Jay (1603 - 1625). Measuring 1.3 x 0.64 x 1.08m, it is a funerary sculpture unearthed at the tomb and commissioned by Nicolas Le Jay, President of the parliament of Paris, for his wife in the church of the Minimes within Paris' Place Royale. Boudin created this statue following their contract signing on July 15th, 1628, while simultaneously crafting the bust of Nicolas Le Jay (the only remaining one), which was later sculpted by Peter II Piard.
