Mad Max Sawed Off Double Barrel Shotgun
thingiverse
I recently went to the Dallas Comic Con dressed as Mad Max from the MM2 / Road Warrior costume I designed and built myself, modeling and printing many of its intricate parts. I thought I'd share one standout piece - my 3D printed sawed-off shotgun prop. UPDATE - By popular demand, I uploaded separate files for the two grip halves, which should improve assembly and customization. I also added an optional alternate trigger guard with fixed triggers to enhance the overall look. To assemble this model, start by printing it without support material, except for the receiver piece, which will need some minimal supports for a stable build. Align the two barrel halves using the included barrel bushings and attach them with a strong adhesive. Then, glue the entire barrel to the receiver, ensuring a seamless fit. Attach the foregrip to both the bottom of the barrel and the receiver using the same adhesive. Follow that up by assembling the two grip halves together and then gluing them into place. For a precise fit, slide the dovetail on the grip into its corresponding slot on the receiver. If necessary, lightly sand this joint to achieve a snug fit before gluing it securely in place. Once assembled, feel free to sand, paint, and add weathering effects as you see fit. I also included a detachable barrel plug that can be painted orange and inserted at the end of the barrel for added safety realism.
