Mad Max Fury Road Premiere Bowtie
thingiverse
You'll have to forgive me for the overexcited dad pride - My daughter Courtney Eaton takes on a role as "Fragile" and joins the five wives in George Miller's Mad Max Fury Road, so to mark her Australian Premiere in Sydney, I merged two unique designs into one show-stopping bowtie that caught everyone's attention at the red carpet event. The response was overwhelming with many admirers commenting on its boldness. I also created matching cufflinks, which I will post online soon. I wanted to create a piece of art that truly stands out. To achieve this stunning design, I used my 3D printer to create two contrasting colors: black and white. Changing mid-print from one color to the other provided the necessary contrast and made it stand out even more. Using advanced slicer software helped determine the ideal print layer, right as the skull was taking shape, making it an excellent spot for the color change. Printed at 0.125mm resolution in ABS plastic, I ensured this bowtie remained proportional to my other designs, only slightly downsized by 10%. One additional component required is a tie clip from the original Bowie Bowtie design; attaching it to the back of this masterpiece using acetone glues will complete the look.
