Mad Dog Tower
sketchfab
Mad Dog Tower stands tall as a Pueblo III site in the heart of southwestern Colorado's Mesa Verde region. Rising 3.2 meters above the modern landscape, it may have played a vital role within a complex network of allied sites that formed the Castle Rock Pueblo community. Archaeologists from Crow Canyon Archaeological Center uncovered the secrets of Mad Dog Tower back in 1988, and nearly two decades later, the Institute of Archaeology at Jagiellonian University in Krakow joined forces with the Anasazi Heritage Center and the US Bureau of Land Management to dig deeper into its history. The team's impressive findings were brought to life by Boleslaw Zych and Bogumil Pilarski, who meticulously processed and visualized the data. Meanwhile, Michal Znamirowski and Robert Slabonski captured stunning photographs that showcased the tower's grandeur. The FARO Scene scanner equipment was kindly provided by Archeo Explorers Wieslaw Koszkul, a company dedicated to preserving our cultural heritage.
