Macro Number Pad
thingiverse
I recently crafted a custom keyboard layout and discovered it's amazing, yet I find myself yearning for the convenience of a built-in numpad and function keys. To address this need, I devised a hybrid keypad using spare components and an Arduino Pro Micro. The design aesthetic is heavily influenced by the ingenious Printdox case created by AGuyFromOhio on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2533064). Firmware development is still underway, but my vision involves positioning F keys on the left-hand side. The four keys above the numpad will serve as mode selectors for the F key. Mode 1 enables standard keyboard functionality, including arrow keys and ins/del functions. Mode 2 activates F1 through F12 keys. Mode 3 unlocks F13 to F24 keys for AutoHotkey compatibility. Mode 4 utilizes Shift + F13 to F24 for more extensive macro capabilities. As for the remaining two keys, I'm still deliberating on their purpose; likely, they'll be assigned to volume control or other convenient functions.
