Mackie Volume Knob Replacement *UPDATED*

<p><strong>UPDATE</strong></p> <p><strong>Uploaded a newer version with indents and the pointer raised above the top. It is slightly bigger than the smooth version so it slides on the pin easier. I used superglue to keep it in place but it doesn't really need it.</strong></p> <p>I got this old Mackie mixer for a video recording job I do once a month. It was missing a slider (linked above) and a volume knob.</p> <p>This knob has the indicator line in the right spot and correctly shows the level it is at just like the stock knobs. I had to make it a little bigger on the outside because slicing walls that thin made for some crappy prints. This printed flawlessly as soon as I made the outer walls a bit bigger.</p> <p>You can see the knob in action in the pictures. It is the red one :P</p> <p>** My original design had the little texture lines like the original knobs but I was having so much trouble printing I thought I may have been them that was causing the issue. Now that I have it printed well I will try a new file with the texture back in and see how it does.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><h3>Category: Audio Instructions</h3> <p><strong>Smooth Version</strong></p> <p>Printed the smooth version well at medium quality on Makerware with .2 mm layer hight. This file will print with no raft or supports. The medium quality allows sharpie marker to bleed through to the rest of the piece. Printing at high quality stops the bleeding.</p> <p>It is very tight on the rod that is on the mixer. I had to tap mine a little bit to get it on all the way.</p> <p><strong>Textured Version</strong></p> <p>Printed well at high quality. No raft or supports needed.</p>
