New design is available at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:657156 UPDATE 1: Check out my keyboard creation that matches perfectly with it here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:673695 Hello there, I stumbled upon this awesome Macintosh-inspired iPad mini model last night on the renowned Wired magazine and loved every aspect of it! http://www.wired.com/2015/01/slick-macintosh-design-inspired-first-mac-time/ As an architect who also happens to be passionate about 3D printing, I thought it would be a great idea to modify this design to fit the iPad mini. The finished model is complete! Take a look at the updated photos and enjoy. NOTICE: A brand new file with a reduced angle has been added due to user feedback, where some users experienced instability issues when testing with their iPad minis. I advise you to use the latest version for optimal results. I plan to enhance this design by incorporating rice within the scaffold area before it's fully printed, adding more weight and making it look stunning. If interested, take a glance at my other amazing iPad mini creations: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:342809 To bring this idea to life, I employed ArchiCAD as my primary tool. Being an architect has been instrumental in developing my 3D printing skills. I started by importing the original Macintosh design into ArchiCAD from a SketchUp file and later adapted the iPad mini version for similar proportions. Utilizing information from the featured article, I carefully altered the images to perfectly fit this creative project. After making a few necessary adjustments to accommodate my 3D printing bed size – it now just fits on my trusty 3D touch printer – I utilized Artlantis for quick and seamless rendering.
