Macintosh Apple mini dock KEYBOARD
thingiverse
Human: Hi there! Here's a keyboard that goes with the following design - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:657156 I've finally finished designing the keyboard. I got some new PLA in the mail today, so it's printing as I type this right now. I received my Bluetooth keyboard from Ebay to use for this project and it works great for under $20 AUD. This is the keyboard I used - http://www.ebay.com/itm/301332904406 The Apple II design is almost ready to print too. I'm going to start accepting donations through PayPal to help make these available for you fellow Apple enthusiasts. A dollar or more would be great, especially if you download it - that will let me keep working on the updates and even create matching keyboards for any keyboard you buy. Just send a donation to hugoarchicad@gmail.com It's got the Apple logo on it and the disk drive cutout works perfectly without supports when printed sideways. I'm printing one right now in white and it'll take about 11 hours with my "fast" settings. Check out this Wired article from 2015 for more information - http://www.wired.com/2015/01/slick-macintosh-design-inspired-first-mac-time So, I thought it would be a fun idea to modify the design to fit an iPad Mini instead. I'll have to take some photos of our finished project at the Apple store in Brisbane CBD soon. Take a look at my other iPad Mini creations here - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:342809 I'm using ArchiCAD because I'm an architect and that's what I know best! First, I downloaded the original Macintosh model as a SketchUp file and imported it into ArchiCAD. Then, I did the same thing for the iPad Mini. From the article, I got some images to use and adapted them to fit the design while keeping the proportions intact wherever possible. I tweaked the design slightly so it fits on my 3D Touch printer and rendered it using Artlantis really quickly. You can see more of my work here - www.hugoriveros.com Cheers, Hugo
