Machine with Weight

Machine with Weight

thingiverse

This replica is a 3D printed recreation of Arthur Ganson's Machine with Concrete. It functions, but requires some modifications. One file that wasn't included is the green spacer, which was a custom-made washer scaled to fit perfectly. Due to the nature of printed parts, it's essential to adjust the length of this piece for proper assembly. The version shown in the picture utilizes 3/16" rods for the shafts where the gears are positioned. As depicted, this system should have a 3^27 gear reduction and, depending on motor speed, take around ~100k years for the final pulley to rotate once. Trial run footage of Machine with Weight can be seen in this video: https://youtu.be/ODCW5YV7xG0
