MacGyvrBot Babies
thingiverse
Initially, you must understand that self-replicating 3D printers are not fully grown when they're born. To create baby bot parts, use two different colors of ABS and print two sets. After printing, apply solvent to strengthen the parts, sand off any flanges or rough spots, and reapply the solvent before sanding again for a smooth finish. Ensure all parts fit together correctly, assemble the two-colored baby bots, and bond the parts using solvent. Sand joints for a smooth appearance and apply solvent for a glossy finish. To connect the extruder to the spool, use small pieces of extruded filament. However, exercise caution during solvent bonding; use solvents with MEK such as Oatey cleaner, acetone, or superglue. Work in well-ventilated areas, wear eye protection, and avoid staining surfaces by placing aluminum foil on your work surface. Additionally, be cautious when using the solvent to heal delaminated parts. Wear latex gloves during this process as vinyl gloves may not suffice.
