Skeletonized MacBook Pro Retina Stand with Optional HDD/Drive Storage Shelf. The MacBook Pro Retina is outdated, but it's still in use, making this design worth sharing. I haven't tested the fit on current MBPs, but the hooks could easily be resized to accommodate any laptop. This stand was designed for users who frequently use an external drive and move their laptop around while working. They often accidentally move the laptop with a drive still tethered, risking hard drive loss or broken USB ports. The design also caters to those who prefer a steeper keyboard angle for comfort and raise their screen 6 inches above the standard flat angle for ergonomics. To reduce material usage and print time, I considered other factors like stability. The two-part shelf can store two typical USB type portable HDDs side by side and sets the distance between the side supports for optimal stability. Adding four non-skid feet to the bottoms of the side supports prevents the stand from moving around on hard tables, which tend to slide due to PLA's slippery surface, especially when using Lemon Pledge. Assembly is straightforward; a video can be uploaded upon request.
