Macbook Air Stand - In Desk
thingiverse
This is a 3D printed MacBook Air stand that allows you to mount your MacBook at a precise 45-degree angle inside your desk. The stand itself measures about four inches deep, and your MacBook will need to be positioned with its slender end facing downwards. This configuration leaves the majority of ports accessible while maintaining an ergonomic viewing angle. Depending on which end is oriented downwards, the speaker port or low-side USB port may be obstructed for the 11-inch MacBook Air model. However, larger models are less likely to encounter such restrictions. To install this stand, you will need to cut a rectangular hole in your desk, and I have included a cut guide (.stl file) that can be printed out if desired. For optimal stability, it is recommended to adhere the finished stand firmly into the tabletop. If you prefer not to create this stand yourself, you can purchase one from my eBay listing at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macbook-Air-stand-3D-Printed-mounts-in-desk-/141923695754?hash=item210b4fbc8a:g:8T4AAOSwyjBW3lsY. Printer settings: * Brand: MakerBot * Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 * Rafts: Not required * Supports: None needed * Resolution: Set to "Fast" * Infill: Solid (100%) Notes: I print this stand using solid infill with a thin wall thickness, as reducing the fill would not yield significant savings. The maximum overhang angle is 45 degrees, making it feasible to print without supports on most 3D printers.
