Mac Ride Mounting Bracket for 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 steerer tubes
thingiverse
Mac Ride child bike seats (are awesome) require a special headset/stem spacer to attach the seat rail to the bike. I needed a 1 1/4 version of the spacer for my Canyon gravel bike, which kicked off my search. The bracket made by user akennberg, when printed on my Creality, did not fit properly (the 3.2mm groove for the Mac Ride clamp would not even come close to closing), even though other dimensions were right on. It is possible that Mac Ride has changed the tolerances on the front clamp, not quite sure. Currently four designs are included: - Steerer spacer for 1 1/8 steerers (fit most bikes) - Steerer spacer for 1 1/4 steerers (all Canyon bikes, and some Giant bikes) - Top Cap adapter for 1 1/8 steerers (for bikes that cannot fit a spacer - use at your own risk - see below) - Seat post protector for 27.2mm posts (prevents MacRide rear clamp contact with carbon road bike post, also makes it easier to raise/lower seatpost without readjusting clamp) I have tested all of the above designs for fit against my personal bikes and Mac Ride seat. Here are a few of the key dimensions in this design: - Overall height: 10.8 mm - Groove height: 3.4 mm - ID for 1 1/8 steerer: 29 mm - ID for 1 1/8 steerer: 30.2 mm
