Mac OSX paper bin
youmagine
I wanted to bring home a piece of Mac OSX, which I believe is the most visually appealing operating system. I chose the paper bin from Mac OSX because it's both an exceptional piece of design and a great opportunity for me to hone my modeling skills, which aren't exactly where I'd like them to be. Using Google SketchUp for modeling, I was able to push myself to the point where I had nearly exhausted its capabilities. I've also uploaded these files to thingiverse but unfortunately, it seems that platform has strayed from the original vision and principles of its creators, which is a shame. I plan to transfer all my designs to YouMagine in the future if things don't improve. In the meantime, feel free to print out your own paper bin with this design and share your pictures. To achieve this print, I used the following settings: Layer height at 0.12mm, wall thickness at 0.2mm, retraction enabled for jumps over 3mm, retraction speed at 60mm/s, print speed at 40mm/s, nozzle size at 0.4mm, and PLA material. Note that the larger version shown in one of the pictures was just a test piece, and its quality isn't up to par.
With this file you will be able to print Mac OSX paper bin with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Mac OSX paper bin.
