Mac Mystic Back Panel for Flippy Floppy support
prusaprinters
This model is associated with the Kero's Mac Mods' Flippy-Floppy for vintage Macintosh Color Classic Mystic computers that provides switching from the internal floppy drive to an externally attached FloppyEMU from BMOW. The back plate Kero’s Mac Mods sells works fine if you don't have the Apple 2e emulation board. But, there is an interference problem between the location of the flippy floppy switch and the emulation board. So, I moved the switch over to another part of the backplate. It's a tight fit but works. The back plate consists of 3 parts: The main piece and two small inserts to replicate the indented surround visible around the connectors. This avoids stringy indentations. It will need two brass inserts (M4X4X6mm) for the ribbon connector. You can buy this on Amazon: https://a.co/d/fJzyqYO (not an affiliate link)I did look at other Mystic back panels hosted on a few different web sites but decided I'd design it from scratch to ensure the tight fit would work. Design work was done on Bentley Systems' MicroStation CAD software.I did not add the icons to the back plate in version 1 because of difficulty with such small and shallow “holes” that make up the icons.. If I can fix the holes issue I hope to incorporate the icons in the next version. Printer: Bambu Lab X1cFilament: Polymaker PolyTerra PLA, Muted White Matte (SKU: PA0402)Filament setting: Generic PLANote: Use plenty of glue on the PLA cool build plate. Failure to do so will result in a warped part. Using any of the “art” plates failed with severe warpage. The Engineering plate works but might need a light coat of adhesive to transfer the texture of the plate to the part. Too much glue will result in a patchy texture.Kero Mac Mods's Flippy-Floppy: https://en.infinityproducts.co.jp/product-page/smc-flappy-floppy-floppyemu-and-internal-floppy-drive-switcher-kitNote: This is my first upload of a 3D print.
