Mac mini 2018 VESA Mount (behind monitor)

thingiverse

I wanted my Mac mini to disappear behind my wall-mounted monitor seamlessly. There are several VESA mounts for Mac minis available on Thingiverse, but (as far as I can see) none that combine the functionality of a mount with a monitor on the same plate. This specific design allows you to do just that. You can also decide whether your Mac mini should hang below, on the side, or atop the VESA plate, and where the connectors should point. To create this setup, you'll need: 4 M4x40 screws (hex or otherwise), 2 M4x10 screws (hex or otherwise), 2 M4x8 or longer screws (hex or otherwise), and 8 M4 nuts. Here's how to assemble it: * Print one of the base plate, the VESA plate, two clamps, and one stop. The VESA plate requires supports during printing, while everything else should print fine without them. * Outfit the base plate and VESA plate with nuts securely. * Screw the base plate and VESA plate together using M4 screws and nuts. M4x8 hex screws are ideal, but slightly longer ones work just as well. The VESA plate acts as one of the four stops in this setup. * Attach the clamps to the sides where you don't want the connectors to point. Use the M4x40 screws for this task. * Mount the assembly between your VESA monitor mount and the monitor. * Slide the Mac mini into the clamps, then secure it with the stop, which should be mounted using M4x10 screws. Disclaimer: This setup securely mounts an expensive piece of hardware in a way that if the mount fails, the hardware could fall down and potentially get damaged as well. Print it sturdy to avoid any issues. If anything happens, I won't take responsibility for any damage.
