MAC Coltellerie (Knives)-Microsub Race_Sheat
thingiverse
I've been using this Mac Coltelliere for three years now, and I'm quite pleased with its performance. The Microsub Race knife is a standout when it comes to spearfishing, thanks to its compact size - it's just the right fit for navigating through tight spaces. However, I have to admit that sharpening the blade can be a bit of a challenge, but once you get past that hurdle, the payoff is well worth it. The sheath, on the other hand, has proven to be a bit more temperamental. Within a relatively short period of time, the first part to break was the sheath itself, splitting into two pieces under stress. Since then, I've been relying on epoxy putty to hold everything together, but I'm eager to upgrade to a new 3D-printed sheath. To give my Mac Coltelliere an extra boost, I made some modifications to the original design, adding a small horn at the tip of the sheath. This handy feature allows me to secure the elastic rope that keeps the knife from getting lost during dives. It's a simple yet effective tweak that has greatly enhanced my overall experience with this trusty sidekick. I opted for a PETG filament from PrimaSelect, and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Printing at 230 degrees Celsius yielded some fantastic results, and I'm excited to see how the new sheath holds up in the long run.
