M9 gimbal adapter for 9xr
thingiverse
A custom adapter for FrSky M9 hall gimbals to fit on a 9xr or 9xr pro radio transmitter is now available. For detailed instructions, check out this forum thread: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=122&t=6501&start=60. To begin, swap the metal plate on the M9 gimbal with the new printed part. Next, use a 3mm drill bit to carefully make holes in the plastic of the M9 gimbal. Now, open up your 9xr radio and remove the original gimbal and vertical trim switches. To fit the M9 gimbal perfectly, cut away some more plastic around where the vertical trim switch PCB was originally seated. Both left and right gimbal adapters are identical in design. This adapter was printed using PETG material with a Prusa I3 0.4mm head setup. Note: The adapter has been revised to improve its design. Version 1.1 of this part is now available, dated June 1st, 2017.
