M8 Enclosed Wing Nut
thingiverse
This is a M8 Enclosed Wing Nut, available in two versions. One version is fully enclosed with an internal depth of 18mm, while the other features an open bolt design that accommodates any length M8 bolt. A Stainless Steel nut measuring 13 x 6.5mm was used for this part. To enclose the M8 nut during printing, pause the print at layer 87 if using a resolution of 0.2mm. Then, orient the model on its largest base and place the nut into the recess before continuing the print. For improved adhesion when printing onto the nut, place it on the heat bed prior to inserting it into the recess. Printing with a grid infill of at least 70% is recommended. After re-editing the design, I removed 0.1mm from above the nut to achieve a tighter fit and better bridging performance during adhesion.
