M8 Armored Gun System for microarmor
thingiverse
The M8 Armored Gun System is a lightweight armored vehicle designed specifically to replace the M551 Sheridan. Weighing in at a significantly reduced weight, it was engineered to be air-droppable with its lightest armor package - one of three available configurations. Unfortunately, despite its impressive capabilities, the M8 was ultimately passed over for selection and the M551 was replaced by the more advanced M1128 Mobile Gun System, which is based on the versatile M1126 Stryker platform. A detailed 3D model of the vehicle in full scale dimensions can be created using Blender version 2.79b and then scaled down to 1/100 for use with a 3D printer. The file can also be reduced further by scaling it down to 35% within the slicer software. For reference, standard gaming dice measuring 15mm are often used as a scale comparison for models of this size.
