These are M60 machine guns for the Hangar9 OV-10 Bronco. This model of the OV-10 is 1/4.44 scale, and so that is the scale of these guns. Looking at period photos, it seems they are offset (with one sticking out farther), so there is a short one and a long one. The hole in this model’s OV-10 sponson for the guns is about 12mm diameter, and about 12mm deep. These will fit in that hole tightly with little to no reaming/sanding. The base should butt up against the back of the hole for the right amount of gun to stick out of the hole. I made the base of these guns oval (12mmx10mm), thinking that if I had to enlarge the hole in the sponson, an oval would be less work than a circle. But they fit fine in my sponsons without much fiddling. The hole in the sponson has an M4 blind nut in the back, and the guns that came with the kit have a M4 bolt to screw in that blind nut. These guns have an M4 hole in the base, and I suppose a bit of M4 threaded rod could be glued or screwed in there for mounting. But I didn’t attempt to do that. I just glued the guns in the holes with a little E6000 glue. That holds them well, but if I really needed to, I could pull them out. I printed these in Tough2000 resin from Formlabs, on a Form3. I sprayed them with Tamiya gunmetal, and then applied a black wash to fill some of the cracks (like those ridged rings on the lower barrel). I then dry-brushed Citadel Necron Compound (a silvery metal) to highlight the ridges. This technique is good for metal objects in general – wash to darken the low areas, and then dry-brush a bit of silver to highlight and weather the high areas. In this case, the wash is not much darker than my base coat, so it is of questionable value. But I put it on anyway.
