M6 nut with large integral washer (trim fastener clip)
thingiverse
Very simple mash-up of a nut and a washer because I needed them. I combined elements from different sources to create something functional. I used OpenSCAD ISO metric thread library by TrevM, available on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:311031, to design a 6mm-thread nut with a 10mm hex size. This library allowed me to create a precise and accurate design. Next, I added an integral washer (flange) using Designspark Mechanical because I couldn't find a suitable nut or clip on Thingiverse. StuartL's https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3401133 was close to what I needed, but it wasn't exactly right. If you open the file in Designspark, you can easily "pull" the outer surface to create different flange diameters without affecting the nut size. I created two sizes this way - a large one with a 25mm diameter and a small one with an 18mm diameter. Both files are attached. I printed these parts using my Anycubic Delta, but got smoother results with my Ender 3. The Ender 3 is such a popular printer that I've also attached the gcode for this design - feel free to try it if you're feeling adventurous! My printer is stock and unmodified, and I'm using generic PLA filament. If you're wondering what I needed an M6 nut with integral washer for, let me tell you. My Tesla Model 3 wheelarch liners were missing some factory fasteners, which left gaps where the liner didn't touch the wheelarch. The car has M6 threaded studs protruding from the sheet steel in the wheel well, and the factory uses a thin plastic clip/washer that presses onto the stud. These clips aren't very strong and don't fit well, so I needed an improved fastener. I could have used steel nuts, but they would probably corrode in the wheel well, plus I wanted a large washer to hold the fabric lining in place. If I'd used stainless steel nuts, they would stand out or need painting. Plastic nuts have a self-locking quality. I'm happy to report that the 3D-printed nuts can be screwed on with fingers, but a 10mm socket can also be used - the same size as a standard bolt securing the lower corner of the liner.
