As Americans gazed upon Europe, witnessing the devastating German Panzers and Blitzkrieg crushing it into submission, they grasped the harsh reality that their current tanks were woefully inadequate. The need for heavier, more formidable armor became glaringly apparent, giving birth to the M6 Heavy Tank. Following exhaustive testing, however, it became clear that this behemoth failed to meet army standards, rendering it unsatisfactory. The project was subsequently terminated, and the tank was relegated to the scrapheap of history. Yet, I firmly believe that its influence on future American tank designs warrants recognition.
