M6 Filament Guide

M6 Filament Guide

A vital filament guide for enclosures is designed to prevent damage to the delicate filament as it passes through a smooth acrylic tube. The first prototype of this enclosure was made from full 3mm thick acrylic and featured a simple, unadorned design that minimized the risk of scratches or cuts. However, this initial version posed a problem: every time the filament needed to be changed, it would inevitably pop out of place, necessitating a redesign. To address this issue, I created a new guide that incorporates a clever feature - a threaded hole that allows for easy attachment of the M6x1 tapping bit. With this modification, printing the guide became a straightforward process that required no support material whatsoever, simply a steady and deliberate pace. This filament guide boasts an inner diameter of 4.1mm, making it possible to fit a PTFE tube inside with ease.
