3D Printing Guide for Flexible Filament with MK8 Extruder Use an M6 threaded headless bolt designed specifically for flexible filament and the MK8 all-metal extruder to minimize filament binding risks. Reducing Layer Height is Crucial To preserve screw threads, a low layer height is essential. I achieved this by setting mine to 0.1 mm. This bolt was engineered for use with 1.75mm filaments, but it will not function with 2.5 or 3 mm filaments due to the hole diameter being approximately 2.55mm. Printing Options This design can be printed as-is without supports. However, I only tested it using a 0.4mm nozzle and an 0.8mm wall/shell thickness. Other printing configurations were not explored. Installation Requirements Removing the metal feed base may be necessary to install this guide. Unfortunately, I was unable to thoroughly test this design due to the lack of flexible filament in my possession.
