M5 T-Slot Nut

M5 T-Slot Nut

thingiverse

I recently revamped the M5 T-Slot nut designed by zapprae to suit my needs, so I imported the file into SketchUp, carefully crafting a single nut within the software. From there, I loaded this modified design into Cura and made use of its multiply function to easily produce as many identical nuts as necessary. Initially, I 3D printed one nut with 100% infill at high detail using HIPS material on my Taz 5 printer. The print time was around three minutes, which isn't excessive considering the resolution. Notably, when paired with an M5 bolt, the latter can cut its own threads into the plastic, leading to a surprisingly strong and secure hold.
