M5 knurled knob for router circle jig

thingiverse

I required a grippy m5 knob for my circle jig and was unable to find one on thingiverse that met my needs. What I needed from this part were three key things: it had to be easy to print without support, which I believe is a waste of resources if avoidable; it had to have a large base in order to create sufficient friction; and there had to be some space between the surface and knurling in order to achieve a better grip. In addition, I required that there be material between the surface and nut to be clamped between. This was important for durability as well as saving resources by avoiding unnecessary cavities or volumes. The part also needed to be durable enough for repeated use. After finally finding one that met most of my expectations, it may prove useful for you even if you're not building my circle jig for Makita routers. However, there's a catch: the M5 nut needs to be secured permanently with some drops of (super)glue.
