M5 Cable Organization Tunnels / Clamps
thingiverse
Simple set of cable clamps, one with a 7.25mm radius tunnel, and the other with a 5.25mm radius tunnel. Originally printed to improve the cable management on my SinSmart Genmitsu 3018Pro CNC, but I found myself using them more and more across my laser engavers, 3D printers, and various cables around my house. I know there are tons of these types of items out there but I wanted something a little more specific to have a minimal footprint while still providing enough rigidity to hold up for long periods of time, and enough room in the cable tunnel to accommodate a decent amount of cables going to the stepper motors, limit switches, power cables, etc, without being too loose. I personally printed these with Hatchbox's True Black PLA and have not had any issues with layers cracking, separating, or warping. You could print these in any material you want, such as ABS or Carbon filament if you need higher levels of rigidity or stability. If you're interested, I print at 198c with a 58c heated bed. You printer may vary using the same material depending on hotend and fan configuration. I also use the HeroMe Gen5 with dual radial fans and never cool at more than 70%. For greatest level of strength and reliability, I orient these clips on their side when preparing to slice. This allows for layers to be built in such a way that the strands run the length of the clip from front to back and reduces the change for separation or splitting. Instead of 100% infill, I set Cura to print the top layer at 6mm and the bottom layer at 6mm, collectively creating 12mm of solid layers and no infill required. Setting to 100% infill likely would generate the same result. I prefer to print 0.12mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle at 45mm/s for the cleanest amount of detail on my Ender 5 without slowing the machine all the way down. Average print time per piece at these settings is about 30 minutes per piece, which can definitely be reduced by using 0.2mm layer height and 70-80 mm/s speeds, but I am happy with the current result so I haven't adjusted my settings much. These have been a tremendous help for me despite how simple they are, so I hope you too can find value in these pieces, otherwise feel free to remix them to your liking. Cheers!
